Attention competitors and media - Guincho changes its dates!

The new dates of the IFCA FreeWave World Championships 2004, in Guincho, Estoril’s Coast [close to Muchaxo] are from the 31st of August to the 4th of September.

Windsurf is a sport which has multiple disciplines and diverse circuits. Often, it’s not easy to manage the Events calendars for the Association and Federations of the sport, in a way that everybody is happy. It’s a lot of disciplines, a lot of national championships, continental and world who have to be managed in a very balanced way. A real crazy job for any Federation!

From the 10th to the 22nd of August, there will be a PWA World Cup event in Pozo, Gran Canária. Many of the usual Guincho Competitors will be there at that time. In returning to Europe, many will travel by auto caravan, connecting themselves from the African continent by ferry-boat, so they will begin the long trip to Europe …an exhausting trip.

So that the competitors who wish to participate in this competition, may have a good physical recuperation, after that long journey, IFCA [International Funboard Class Association] decided to change the dates of the FreeWave World Championships and rescheduled them to: from the 31st of August to the 4th of September.

We couldn’t let any competitor outside the competition, since the ISAF [International Sailing Federation] attributes four titles to the World Champion in the following divisions: Men, Ladies, Youth and Masters, to the FreeWave World Championships 2004.

Attention competitors, visitors and media, the new dates of the FreeWave World Championships, Guincho are, instead of the old dates of from the 22nd to the 26th of August, now from the 31st of August to the 4th of September.
