Welcome Message from the President of Portuguese Sailing Federation

In this Formula Windsurfing World Championships I'd like to highlight the following achievements: the confirmation of Portugal as the organizing country for big nautical events; the recognition of the technical ability of the Sports Clubs and Agents; and also the importance of re-launching the windsurfing class within the FPV [Portuguese Sailing Federation].

I'd also wish to highlight the opportunity for these Windsurfing World Championships, in a context of international development, to promote a new model of windsurfing sail with Olympic ambitions, promoting also the association between several entities with common aims, such as the Portimão City Hall and Grupo Pestana.

I wish the competitors and organizers the biggest technical and sportive successes, and I thank the sponsors their contribution and presence.
